Editorial Policy & Standards
These are the standards we hold ourselves to. They explain how we decide what to publish, where our information comes from, and how we stay accountable to readers.
Independence
We choose which apps to cover and what to say about them on our own terms. No company can pay for a better verdict. Where money is involved, we disclose it, and it stays separate from our editorial judgement.
Accuracy and sourcing
Claims about wellbeing, loneliness, and how people relate to AI are grounded in recognized authorities and published research rather than opinion. Across the site we point to bodies such as national health and psychology organizations and peer-reviewed work, so you can follow a claim back to its source.
Affiliate transparency
AI Boyfriend is supported in part by affiliate links. When you use one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is spelled out in full in our Affiliate Disclosure, and it never decides a ranking. How we actually arrive at a verdict is documented in our review methodology.
Corrections and updates
If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the page rather than quietly leaving it. Reviews are revisited as apps change, and the update date reflects the most recent meaningful edit.
Accountability
Editorial content is written and reviewed by a named editor, Quinn Marlowe, so there is a real person behind the work. Questions and corrections can be sent through our contact page.
Responsible use
We treat AI companions as good company, not as a substitute for friends, partners, or professional support. Where a topic touches on mental health, we say clearly that an app is not a replacement for human help.
